Learning Activities

This assignment taught me of the importance of knowing who your target audience will be and hat their needs are. In order for me to develop and present this information i really had to think of what the issue was and who needed the information. As a Clinical Manager for nurses who work in the Camden NJ area, i see first hand the challenges the nurses face with trying to get the patients to be compliant with their interventions and teachings.

Camden NJ is a community with a large Hispanic population who often times lack the necessary resources needed for them to care for themselves. Due to cultural beliefs and religious practices, these patients tend to rely more on feedback from family members than they do on health care professionals.

Educating nurses and other health care professionals who care for patients in Camden or of Hispanic culture will better prepare them for creating tailored plan of care to better meet the needs of this population due to having a better understanding of their culture.
