This assignment made me reflect not only on the future of technology on a hole but more so the future of technology in the home care setting. With changes in Medicare reimbursements and increases in health care costs, patient care will be shifted towards care being provided in the patients homes. Telemedicine will become a very useful tool for patients to communicate with their physicians and health care providers. Less home visits will be made and more care ill be performed via a computer in the patients home. Below is my youtube video.
Great job on your presentation. I thought you brought up some great points regarding the number of people with chronic medical conditions. I think with the amount of people presenting with comorbidities also will play into this as this number is undoubtedly increasing as well. Telemedicine and in home addressing of these issues will ultimately become more important in the future.
